Melissa (Kendrick) Sexton made this for my wedding shower at Cole a couple years ago. It is so good! It could really be used for appetizer OR dessert!
Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Ball
8oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup butter, softened
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup confectioner’s sugar
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
½ cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
¾ cup finely chopped pecans (or more chocolate chips)
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in sugars until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for two hours. Place the cream cheese mixture on a large piece of plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Cover and refrigerate for one hour. Just before serving, roll cheese ball in pecans or chocolate chips. Serve with assorted graham crackers.
